What is included in the retreat?

All aspects of the program, accommodation, healthy nutritious meals and juices, all fitness, yoga, pilates classes, guided walks, outings and workshops. We also offer a free airport transfer form Alicante Airport to the retreat and back (at certain times on day of arrival and departure).

Question 3

I'm coming on my own. Is that normal?

Accepted Answer

Coming on your own is completely normal here, in fact most of our guests do exactly that. You will be part of a small group of no more than eight, so it feels intimate rather than crowded, and most people find that by the second day it no longer feels like they arrived alone. You will also have your own room every night. We only ever share a room between people who have booked together, never with strangers, so you always have a quiet space of your own to return to. With daily one to one check-ins, you are gently looked after all week.

Will I be the oldest one there?

Almost certainly not. Most of our guests are women in their 50s and 60s, though we happily welcome a wider range of ages and life stages. You are very unlikely to be the oldest, and just as unlikely to be the youngest. Nearly everyone arrives quietly wondering the same thing, and most leave having made a friend or two who felt exactly the same way.

How fit do I need to be?

You do not need to be fit, you only need to be willing. The week includes gentle movement like yoga, Pilates, guided countryside walks and a rebounding session on mini-trampolines, but everything is optional and offered at a level you set yourself. You can take it slowly or push a little more, and nobody is watching or comparing. Many guests arrive not having exercised in a long while. If you have an injury or something on your mind, note it on your pre-arrival form and we will quietly adapt things for you.

How long is the retreat?

We offer 7-day immersive retreats designed to help you disconnect and rejuvenate. Our schedule runs Saturday to Saturday: Saturday is check-in and a gentle settling-in day; the full program starts on Sunday; and Friday is the final program day, when we close with a 3-course celebration meal prepared by Gareth. For extra time, you can join our 10-day April retreat or contact us about a 2-week retreat.

Is this retreat suitable for beginners or only experienced wellness enthusiasts?

The retreat is designed for all levels, whether you're new to wellness retreats or have experience. Our team tailors the experience to suit individual needs.

What is the daily schedule like at the retreat?

Each day includes a mix of yoga, fitness, healthy meals, mindfulness practices, and free time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. A detailed schedule will be provided upon arrival. A Typical Day at Sana Sana can also be found under the Program tab in the menu.

We ask that you fill out a pre-arrival health form, so we can ensure the retreat is suitable for you. For specific medical conditions, we recommend consulting with your doctor before booking.

Costa Blanca enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and mild winters. Average temperatures in summer range from 25-35°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities.

Is Wi-Fi available at the retreat?

Yes, we offer Wi-Fi, but we encourage you to disconnect and focus on your personal journey during your time with us.

What kind of accommodation do you offer?

Accepted Answer

Our house has five individually styled ensuite rooms, each with its own character, so no two stays feel quite the same. Every room has a comfortable king or super-king bed, a walk-in shower and air conditioning. Some look out over the pool and the sea, some open onto their own patio or terrace, and two have a private free-standing hot tub. As we welcome no more than eight guests at a time, your room is always a calm, private space of your own. You can see each room, with photos and prices, on our Book Now page.

Can I bring a friend or family member?

Yes, you are welcome to bring a friend or family member. We offer twin-sharing rooms for those who wish to stay together.

Do you offer group retreats or private bookings?

Accepted Answer

We offer both options. Our standard retreats are group-based, but we can arrange private, tailored retreats for individuals or small groups. Are airport transfers provided?

We offer Free Airport Transfers from and to Alicante Airport at certain times on day of arrival and day of departure. We recommend to book flights that tie in with these times. If your flights don't tie in with these times, you can either wait for the next transfer, or we can book you a Private Transfer at €150 each way. For full details, please see our Transfer Policy.

Can I join the retreat if I have dietary restrictions?

Absolutely! We cater to all dietary preferences, including vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free. Please let us know in advance so we can accommodate your needs.

Question 17

Do you serve alcohol at the retreat?

Accepted Answer

No. Sana Sana is an alcohol-free retreat. We do not serve alcohol on the premises, and we ask guests to refrain from bringing it. This supports the detox, rest, and reset experience we create together.

Question 18

What should I bring to the retreat?

Accepted Answer

Comfortable clothing for Yoga, Pilates and Exercise. Swimwear if you would like to make use of the (not) heated pool. Trainers for walks. Some people like to bring hiking boots, for the off the road walks. But sturdy trainers will do the job.

Toileteries, like shampoo, conditioner and shower gel we provide. Including all towels, dressing gowns and slippers. The bathrooms are also equipped with hairdryers.

Do I need to bring my own yoga mat or equipment?

No, all necessary equipment will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Can I book one-on-one coaching sessions during the retreat?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer personalised coaching and therapy sessions as part of your retreat. To secure your spot, please let us know in advance. Around two weeks before your arrival, we’ll send you a Treatment Selection Form so you can choose your preferred sessions.

How can I book a spot for the retreat?

The easiest way is to reserve online. On our Book Now page you can choose your week and your room and send your reservation in just a few minutes, and we confirm personally within 24 hours. Question 22

What does the retreat cost, and what is included?

Our 7-night retreats start from €1,800 per person when two of you book together and share a room, or from €2,198 per person for a room of your own. The exact price depends on the room you choose, and you can see every room with its price on our Book Now page.

Your price includes almost everything: your room, all meals and fresh juices, every fitness, yoga and Pilates class, guided walks, workshops and local outings, and free airport transfers from Alicante at our set times. The only things not included are your flights, travel insurance, and any optional treatments you might like to add during the week.

Question 23

What is the deposit, and what is your cancellation policy?

To hold your place we ask for a 50 percent deposit, with the balance due 8 weeks before your retreat begins.

If you need to cancel, our full policy is set out in our Terms & Conditions: more than 12 weeks before arrival, a full refund of your deposit; between 8 and 12 weeks before, only your deposit has been paid at that point, so it is retained to cover the cancellation and no further payment is asked of you; less than 8 weeks before, your balance has by then been paid in full, and we are not able to offer a refund, as your place has been held and prepared for you. Cancellations are confirmed in writing, and any special discounted offers are non-refundable but can be transferred to someone else. We always recommend comprehensive travel insurance, so you are covered for anything unexpected.

What if I'd rather change my dates than cancel?

That is often possible, and can work out better than cancelling altogether.

More than 12 weeks before arrival, you can move to a new week for a small €100 admin fee plus any difference in room rate. Between 8 and 12 weeks before, your deposit carries forward to your new date on the same terms. Less than 8 weeks before arrival, moving your date depends on whether we are able to fill your original room in time, as by then your place has already been fully paid for and prepared. We will always let you know where things stand as early as possible, and at the latest by the time your original week would have started. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
