What Guests Wish They Had Known Before Their First Retreat
Most first-time guests arrive with the same handful of worries. Here is what we tell them, and what they usually tell us by the end of the week.

Almost every guest arrives with a version of the same nerves. Will I keep up? Will I like the food? Will eight strangers actually get along for a week? By day three, most of them are laughing about how worried they were.
Here is what we wish more people knew before they booked.
You Do Not Need to Get Fit First
This comes up more than anything else. People wait until they feel ready, then a year passes and they still have not booked. You do not need to arrive fit. You need to arrive willing. Every session is built to meet you where you are, not the other way round.
The Food Is Not a Punishment
Some guests arrive expecting bland plates and small portions. What they get instead is real, satisfying, mostly plant-based food, cooked properly and eaten together. Nobody leaves hungry. Most people leave asking for recipes.
Eight Strangers Becomes a Real Group Faster Than You Would Think
This is the one people worry about most and mention least by the end. A small group, sharing meals and mornings for seven days, tends to become close in a way that is hard to explain until it happens. Guests keep in touch long after they leave. Some come back together.
You Will Have Time to Yourself Too
A full programme does not mean a packed one. There is room in each day for a walk, a nap, a quiet corner with a book. Nobody is watching to see if you use every moment productively. That is rather the point.
It Is Normal to Feel Emotional
A week away from the usual noise tends to bring things to the surface, and that can catch people off guard. Tears happen. So does laughter, often in the same afternoon. Our team is there for both, and neither one is treated as a problem to fix.
Come and See for Yourself
The nerves are normal. Almost everyone has them, and almost everyone tells us by the end of the week that the thing they were worried about was the smallest part of it.
